Emeritus Professor Ian Gibbins

Ian Gibbins retired in 2014 after 30 years as a neuroscientist including 20 years as Professor of Anatomy at Flinders University. He is internationally recognised for his research on the microscopic organisation of nerves connecting between the internal organs and the spinal cord. Ian is also a widely published poet, employing diverse forms including electronic music, video and collaborative installations and publications with artists. He has been actively associated with the Adelaide Festival of Ideas since 2008. In addition to his role on the board, Ian is also convenor of the AFoI Program Development Group.
