In conversation with Waleed Aly on a broad range of issues relating to politics in Malaysia, Australia and the rest of the world, all in the context of political process, open democracy, Islam, and the protection of human rights. By way of background, Malaysian students studying in Adelaide were told by their Government that their scholarships may be withdrawn if they attended this event.

For example, our treatment of refugees and asylum seekers; the incarceration rates of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders; freedom of speech; domestic violence; women in the legal profession, equal pay and same-sex marriage?
