AFoI Progressive Dinner Party
EOI to participate in the AFOI Progressive Dinner Party and launch of the Clarendon Creative Retreat
Be a part of the 40 artists, thinkers and creatives who will participate in an artful evening in the form of a progressive dinner party ‘happening’ at Clarendon Creative Retreat.
The theme of this event is ‘what sustains us’.
Guests will arrive at Clarendon to enjoy an artful evening in the form of a progressive dinner party. This ‘happening’ will connect socially-motivated and creative people to discuss sustainable and local practices.
This event takes place in the former home of the great Australian artist, Noela Hjorth. She enjoyed on this property a long and notable artistic career of printmaking and painting. Together we will ruminate on the future of South Australia’s newest artist and thinker retreat through playful exchange and the discussion of conditions required for creative thinking.
To apply, fill in the form below.
Deadline – Monday July 2; Notice – Tuesday July 3
When: Saturday 7 July, 5 — 9pm
Where: Clarendon Creative Retreat
Cost: $80 You will pay this fee once your application is successful.
All guests will be asked to ‘bring something to the table’ as a provocation of food, art or thought. Your offer will represent something that sustains you as a creative: something you have grown with your own hands, tastes symbolic of your cultural heritage, a recipe that reminds you of your mother, or another poetic expression to contribute to the event.
The dinner party is devised by Dr Marnie Badham, artist-researcher at RMIT University. Marnie’s work examines the relationship between food, art and politics and the ‘social life of artist residencies’. The event will be documented by audio and video to be presented at the Adelaide Festival of Ideas to vision the future of Clarendon Creative. The session is ‘Clarendon Creative Dinner Party’, Sunday 15 July, 1pm in the AHMS Joe Verco room.
Additional information regarding transport to the event, accessibility needs, dress code, and dietary specifics will be sent once your application has been successful.
Thanks for your interest, we are no longer accepting submissions.
