Whether drugs are being used for medication, enhancement or pure recreation, concern focuses on the risks of side effects and unforeseen consequences. But what if there were no risks? What would society look like if there were pills that could safely and reliably improve human health, increase the powers of our mind, or simply make life more fun? Drug companies around the world are currently spending billions of dollars to achieve this goal. In this session, we will consider the future and a number of examples where drugs are already being used to enhance human capabilities beyond “normal” levels.
